Elodea

Elodea is another easy and fast growing plant that is excellent for absorbing nitrates in aquariums. In fact, these plants are so non-fussy that they can grow way too fast into proportions that they become like a weed in some water bodies, requiring regular mechanical removal by use of machines. In lighted conditions they can produce a lot of oxygen which will make your tank inhabitants very happy.
